Etienne Hanratty is a would-be author from England.  He is currently working on his second novel, the unwisely embarked-upon sequel to his unpublised debut, A Stopped Clock.  He lives in Cheshire with his wife and three daughters.

  1. I am also writing a sequel to an unpublished first. Actually, I haven’t even finished editing no. 1! I’m in Kent.

    • It was a huge mistake with hindsight. Since embarking on the second book I’ve had so many better ideas which I haven’t been able to pursue. The trouble is, I’m 40 odd thousand words in and I can’t abandon it now. My plan is to self-publish them both some time next year and chalk them off to experience-neither of them are particular good but I’ve learned a lot from the process of writing them. Thanks for the follow, by the way.

      • I could kick you! No way have you made a huge mistake. Make your books good! (They probably are). You owe it to your characters. I’m years into mine and in hindsight, I’ve made every basic mistake in the book. There are always crossroads, but you’ll have the same problems with the ‘better ideas’. Be brilliant! 🙂

      • I’m pretty sure you’re right; I’m just getting impatient to get something out there when I should probably be focussing on making sure the ‘something’ is ready. Thanks for the encouragementZ

  2. Etienne – You might want to think about having a widget on the side bar with the cover of your book that intrigues folks. I applaud you in publishing! Be well… ^..^

I write for myself, I enjoy it. Not to worried if they are published. Enjoying your writing comes first, published or not.
