Loup De Loup

It’s Wednesday, so it’s time for another Friday Fictioneers challenge. The (lovely) photograph comes this week courtesy of Rochelle Wishoff-Fields daughter-in-law. Further pieces inspired by it can be found here. if any literate canids chance upon this link, apologies for trotting out an old and unsubstantiated canard.

120 words.

Danny wanted a kitten for his birthday but all he got was a goldfish. When his Dad asked him what was wrong, Danny could think of a white lie.

“A kitten?” laughed his Dad. ” Money doesn’t grow on trees”

This phrase intrigued him. That night, before he went to bed, he had an idea. Sneaking out into the garden and put the goldfish bowl at the top of a tree and spread superglue on the branches. Cats liked fish, didn’t they? Maybe one would fall for his trap. That night, he was so excited, he couldn’t sleep.

Next morning, he woke up to find the neighbours’ Alsatian glued to the tree, a mat of suspiciously ginger fur around its mouth.

  1. Oh no… dog eats cat eats fish … to bad he couldn’t keep the dog.

  2. Etienne, that’s a very creative take. I’m with Bjorn. Maybe he could unstick and keep the dog.
